**Location:** Chennai, Madurai, Bangalore (travel required to all retail outlets)

**Overview:**
Murugan Idli Shop, a prominent name in the food industry with over 25 outlets across Chennai, Madurai, and Bangalore, is seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Chef. This leadership role directly reports to the CEO and entails overseeing kitchen operations to ensure exceptional food quality, consistency, and hygiene standards across all retail units.

**Job Description:**
1. **Field Role:** Travel daily to retail outlets (1 or 2 per day) in Chennai, Madurai, and Bangalore.
2. **Drive Food Quality and Consistency:**
– Collaborate closely with area chefs, cooks, and kitchen support staff.
– Support food preparation, plating, and packing during peak hours.
3. **Manage Kitchen Staff:**
– Allocate shifts and responsibilities to kitchen staff.
– Recruit, train, motivate, and retain kitchen personnel.
– Monitor performance, efficiency, and output; oversee promotions and salary adjustments.
4. **Manage Food Costs:**
– Supervise purchase and inventory processes to maintain defined food cost norms.
– Track and minimize food wastage through effective management of raw materials.
5. **Kitchen Equipment Management:**
– Take responsibility for kitchen equipment; coordinate purchasing, maintenance, and replacements as necessary.
6. **Vendor Relationships:**
– Cultivate strong relationships with key vendors to ensure high-quality supplies.
7. **Collaboration with Central Teams:**
– Liaise with central kitchen and support teams to meet retail unit requirements.
– Provide feedback on the quality of raw materials and operational needs.

**Candidate Requirements:**
1. – Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in the quick service restaurant industry, with a proven track record of scaling brands across multiple locations.
2. – Strong culinary background with excellent cooking skills in Indian cuisine.
3. – Willingness and ability to travel daily to Chennai outlets; own vehicle required (eligible for reimbursement).
4. – Exceptional people management skills, adept at leading teams across multiple locations.
5. – Proficient in MS Excel for cost tracking and management.
6. – Ideal candidate may have entrepreneurial experience, particularly in starting a restaurant.
