**Job Posting: Chef Executive**

**Murugan Idli Shop**

**Location:** Chennai, Madurai & Bangalore

**About Us:**
Murugan Idli Shop, a renowned name in the food industry, operates 25 outlets across Chennai, Madurai, and Bangalore, employing over 600 dedicated staff. We are seeking a dynamic Chef Executive to lead our kitchen operations and drive food quality, consistency, and hygiene at all retail units.

**Position:** Chef Executive

**Reporting To:** Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

**Responsibilities:**
1. **Field Role:**
– Travel to 1-2 retail outlets daily and spend time at each location.
2. **Drive Food Quality and Consistency:**
– Collaborate with area chefs, cooks, and kitchen support staff.
– Support staff in food preparation, plating, and packing during busy hours.
3. **Manage Kitchen Staff:**
– Oversee shift and work allotment daily.
– Hire, train, motivate, and retain staff with the help of senior kitchen staff and outlet managers.
– Manage staff performance, promotions, and salary increases.
4. **Manage Food Costs:**
– Oversee purchase/indenting processes and manage food costs as per norms.
– Track purchases, storage, and consumption to manage food wastage.
5. **Equipment Management:**
– Take ownership of kitchen equipment, coordinate purchasing, maintenance, and replacement.
6. **Vendor Relations:**
– Build and maintain relationships with key vendors for high-quality raw materials.
7. **Central Kitchen Coordination:**
– Work closely with central kitchen and support teams to ensure retail unit needs are met.
– Provide feedback on the quality of raw materials received from the central kitchen/stores.

**Candidate Requirements:**
1. Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in the quick service restaurant industry.
2. Strong background as a chef with excellent skills in Indian cuisine.
3. Willingness to travel regularly to all retail locations in Chennai (own vehicle required, eligible for reimbursement).
4. Excellent people management skills with the ability to manage employees across multiple locations.
5. Proficiency in using a laptop, working in MS Excel, and managing costs.
6. Ideal candidates may have experience in starting their own restaurant.
