Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines to produce precise parts and components used in turbine manufacturing and servicing.
2. Read and interpret engineering blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications related to turbine parts.
3. Input, modify or troubleshoot CNC programs (G-code) to ensure machining accuracy and efficiency.
4. Load raw materials and secure fixtures/tooling on the machines for accurate milling operations.
5. Inspect and measure finished parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to maintain quality and conform to strict tolerances.
6. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on CNC milling machines to ensure optimal functioning.
7. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
8. Record production and quality data, communicate machine issues, and coordinate with the engineering and quality assurance teams.
9. Work under applicable quality standards such as aerospace manufacturing certifications (AS9100, NADCAP) often required in turbine industry.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent, with additional CNC or manufacturing training preferred.
2. Solid understanding of CNC milling machine operation and programming (G and M codes).
3. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
4. Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
5. Proficiency in using measurement instruments and maintaining equipment.
6. Basic math skills related to machine operation, tolerances, and conversions.
7. Able to work independently and communicate effectively within a team.
