Fitter
Job Description
The Fitter is responsible for mechanical assembly, fitting, and installation of switchgear panels and related components as per engineering drawings, quality standards, and safety guidelines. The role requires precision, technical knowledge, and hands-on experience in switchgear manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and fit mechanical parts of LV/MV/HV switchgear panels as per drawings and specifications
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, GA drawings, and BOMs
Perform drilling, tapping, cutting, grinding, and alignment of components
Ensure proper mounting of breakers, busbars, panels, and accessories
Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately
Coordinate with electrical assembly team for smooth panel integration
Inspect assembled parts for quality, dimensions, and finish
Identify and report defects, deviations, or material issues
Maintain housekeeping and follow 5S practices on the shop floor
Follow safety rules, SOPs, and company quality standards
